For all repetitive information, like person, place, dates etc.., authority files are available to input the information once and select it again if there is a need in another record.
The use of authority file allows to speed up the input. It provides homogeneity and gives structure to the information, and thus guarantees an efficient search.
These authority files:
Are structured in authority list until 30 levels.
Allow the creation of multi-thesaurus.
Manage the semantic relationships: "broader term / narrower term", "used for / see" and "related term".
While inputting, it is possible to browse a hierarchy, consult an element and at any moment to expand the list with new terms or to create a hierarchy.
Reference authority files are provided by default.
It is also easy to import thesaurus and files from other Mobydoc’s users.
